OpenTV' is a middleware for digital television (DTH). OpenTV Core software technology contains a hardware abstraction layer to enable hardware independence, TV libraries, a selection of application execution environments to create a digital television environment for set-top box.
OpenTV,use's its technologies to enable a range of interactive TV services, including multi-camera-angle viewing, gaming, interactive channels, push-VOD (Video-On-Demand ), PVR (Personal Video Recorder )and Electronic Programm Guide (EPG).
Currently openTV is used by DISHtv TATASky ans soon on SUNDIRECT. the new entries are coming with openTv like BIGtv, AirtelDTH, D2H and ETHAir
